“Mobile first” is a refrain that will be familiar to anybody in design. Fifty-three percent of Americans access the internet on their phones, and 31% of smartphone users report that their primary means of using the web is mobile. So it makes sense that increasingly, web design treats mobile as a priority instead of an afterthought.

But the mobile-first mindset goes beyond just responsive web design – it touches every part of an organization.

Sales forces that intentionally integrate mobile into their daily routines have already seen results. Almost three-quarters (73%) of sales executives using tablet or mobile solutions report that they’ve achieved ROI. And companies using mobile apps and sales systems reported a 26% increase in win rates.

The action items for sales leaders in light of this data? Work with Marketing to ensure sales enablement materials are produced in a mobile-friendly manner. In addition, don’t adopt sales tools that can’t be accessed via mobile – 36.6% of salespeople said that a solely laptop/desktop setup is unsuitable for field activity.

Mobile’s not just a trend – it’s here to stay. The infographic below from App Data Room has even more statistics on how mobile technology access empowers sales forces to be more productive and sell better.
